La serie tv regina del piccolo schermo, a detta delle nomination per gli Emmy Awards è senza ombra di dubbio Il Trono di Spade che con 19 candidature ha buonissime probabilità di fare una vera e propria incetta di premi nella serata di premiazione che si terrà il prossimo 25 agosto 2014 al Nokia Theatre di Los Angeles. Grande successo anche per Breaking Bad lo show tv sul re dell’anfetamina che, conclusasi nel 2013, ha comunque portato a casa 16 nomination. Gli altri candidati in cima al podio sono le due miniserie Fargo e American Horror Story: Coven, rispettivamente con 18 e 17 nomination, mentre il lungometraggio drammatico The Normal Heart ne ha ottenute 16, tra cui quella per Miglior film.
Sarà una davvero una serata da Oscar quella del 25 agosto dove in attesa del verdetto per il premio più importante della televisione ci saranno Matthew McConaughey, che quest’anno ha vinto l’ambita statuetta come miglior attore protagonista in Dallas Buyers Club, e Chiwetel Ejiofor, candidato nella stessa categoria per 12 anni schiavo, i due attorisono tra i candidati per True Detective e Dancing on the Edge, così come lo è Julia Roberts, candidata tre volte e premiata dall’Academy nel 2001 per Erin Brockovich, e qui nominata per il ruolo di non protagonista in The Normal Heart.
